One of the founding partners of LJT Lawyers (acronym for Legault, Joly, Thiffault) announces his retirement after more than 40 years in communication and marketing law. Pioneer and precursor in the advertising industry, Mtre Robert B. Legault was the initiator of the original regulatory model for advertising contests in the seventies, before the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec even existed. His model went on to become the reference for advertising and communications marketing agencies in Quebec and Canada.

Robert has not only advised nearly all of the major ad agencies in Quebec, but has been a legal advisor to countless associations over the years, including the Publicity Club of Montreal, the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Association of Creative Communications Agencies (AAPQ), now known as the A2C. For 30 years, the advertising industry assigned him the role of chief negotiator for the Joint Producers Association (APC) in negotiating advertising agreements with the Union des Artistes (UDA).

“It is with a feeling of pride mixed with a certain nostalgia that I announce my departure at the end of this year. These 40 years spent supporting and advising the advertising industry represent a professional and personal accomplishment for me. It was not only a privilege but also an honour for me to work all these years with talented collaborators and for an industry that passionates me so much,” says ** Robert B. Legault**.
