Luc-Olivier Herbert is a lawyer in the Litigation group at LJT Avocats. Called to the Quebec Bar in 2002, he has more than 23 years of experience as a trial lawyer, having represented clients in numerous civil matters before Quebec courts, including the Court of Appeal, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations.
His practice is primarily focused on disputes related to real estate and construction, notably in matters involving construction defects, latent defects, title transfer, servitudes, contractual disputes, commercial leases, and hypothecary proceedings. He also acts in civil and contractual liability matters, loan files, fraud cases, shareholder disputes, provisional and control measures, estate litigation, as well as in disciplinary law.
An accredited mediator, Luc-Olivier has led several mediations at The Small Claims Division at the Court of Québec. In December 2025, he completed training in civil and commercial arbitration and is currently awaiting his accreditation as an arbitrator by the Quebec Bar and the IMAQ.
Before joining LJT Avocats, he practised privately for several years within recognized firms, developing solid expertise in civil, commercial, and real estate litigation. He is actively involved in his community and has sat on several boards and committees, notably at the Quebec Bar and the Barreau de Montréal, in addition to serving as a minor hockey coach since 2014.
